well.....sorry for the large, slow loading picture but i had to leave it like that since its originally A2 sizedand had i reduced it, no detail would be visible......
Scanning it was a nightmare...i had to scan it in 8 sections just for the program to merge it @__@!!!
Anyway....this took me about 8 hours to complete....again due to its size.
Comments are appricated!!
The cowboy of my time John Wayne had nothing on Clint Eastwood, only thing I can critique is maybe his moustache might be a little too thin looking and his left hand looks a little bit strange too long I think.
Overall warm and slightly orange colours of the skin make a nice contrast with the blue of the shirt and the sky (any orange-blue based tones are complementary colours, opposites on the colour wheel and thus stand well together). Some nice folds in the coat give a good sculptural effect.
The sky is light enough to remain a solid colour but create plenty of distance from the figure which is good, especially as it's lighter to the bottom than the top, helps with depth perception.
The hand (his right) has a really strong plane going up to the knuckles which creates the 3D effect of the fingers bending over and you could have created a stronger plane on the other hand by adding a little more shadow just below the knuckles (especially in the first finger from the thumb) and even more highlights on the fingers. The (his) left wrist is a bit undefined, creating more of a ball joint would have helped definition.
There's a couple of problems with the nose, darker nostrils would help, and the eyes aren't quite at the same level but these are just minor drawing errors which can be ironed out with practise, so nothing to really panic about.
As I said, it's certainly Clint. All in all - Nice one.
yeah i know i have a bent gun....it isnt like that on the origina. I must have moved the paper while it was scanning or something....like i said....it wasnt exactly easy to scan it....8 sections @__@

Good heavens that wonderful! The only "advanced critique" I can give is his nostrils seem a bit to light, and almost look like grey circles; what if the inner area of the nostril were darkened just a tad, to go from dark to grey, then perhaps it would give a bit more depth and look more real. Other than that this is faboo!

as said before, the left hand is a little wierd, maybe even the whole arm.
the way the upper arm is a little short. And the had itself, looks like its deformed because of how an entire edge is off the paper. also, the apparent lack of the thumb doesn't help.
i think your missing the trigger gaurd on the gun on our left.
well, besides that, i think the coloring is very well done.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
